Just a few days ago we posted an awesome airstrike video from the Iraq Air Force as they continued their air campaign against advancing ISIS targets, but now after President Obama authorized American airstrikes, we have footage of our own US Navy putting warheads on ISIS foreheads. The bomber of choice: the highly advanced F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter jet, courtesy of America’s finest naval service. Don’t pass on this video folks, and you can be sure there will be more footage like the above to come as ISIS targets continue to get bombarded – that is until they’re all destroyed! More combat footage and ISIS discussion as always after the jump!
US Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet August 8th ISIS Airstrike Video
If you’ve been following the Iraq/ISIS (or simply IS) conflict lately, you’re probably up to speed on the reasons why we have gotten involved. However what’s interesting now that our air power has gotten involved will be seeing how quickly IS forces adapt. Since they’ve been using captured Iraqi Army vehicles, artillery pieces and other weapons, I would wager they’ll let go of those almost immediately and begin to assume more of a traditional insurgency role; in other words, they are going to make sure that American pilots have no way of identifying who they are, and by blending back into the normal population – much like what we faced in both Iraq and Afghanistan – it will be nearly impossible to determine who’s who from 30,000 feet above sea level. It is at that point in which this situation has the potential to escalate, because in my opinion nothing will stop IS fighters from reaching and killing the Yazidi people unless ground troops get involved.
We will be keeping close tabs on this situation, and will be bringing SQ Nation all of the awesome airstrike and combat footage from the front lines. We hope you guys are having a stellar weekend, and thanks for stopping by SQ!
I called it!
